Reference Data : Units

To setup a new unit go to Reference Data and then to the Units tab.

In CoreTRM, a new unit can be setup with its associated units conversion. The system will use this as the default unit conversions to calculate any conversion needed between two units if no specific unit is setup in Commodities.

To set up a new Unit:

  1. Click on New Button to create a new line.
  2. In Unit Code, enter the code of the Unit.
  3. In Unit Name, enter the name of the Unit.
  4. In Unit Description, enter the description of the Unit.
  5. In Quantity Unit?, tick the box if this unit will be used as quantity unit.
  6. In Price Unit?, tick the box if this unit will be used as price unit. For Example, princing is $ per "MT"
  7. Click Save Button to confirm creation.
  8. To edit unit details after creation, Click Edit Button to edit.

After a new unit is created. You can setup its associated unit conversion. Only one conversion combination is required. For example, BBL to MT is set to 7.6. There is no need to add a conversion from MT to BBL (of 0.13157894).

To set up a new Unit Conversions:

  1. Click on New Button to create a new line.
  2. In Conversion Factor, enter the conversion factor converting from Unit Code to Conversion Unit Code.
  3. In Unit Code, enter the from Unit Code.
  4. In Conversion Unit Code , enter the to Unit Code.
  5. Click Save Button to confirm creation.
  6. To edit unit conversion details after creation, Click Edit Button to edit.
